PSG to compete for Thomert

Paris St Germain have confirmed they want to sign a left winger and are reported to be competing with Fulham and Blackburn for Olivier Thomert. Reports in France claim the Premier League pair are both keen on landing the Rennes wide-man. Thomert is currently out-of-favour under Frederic Antonetti at Rennes, and is set to leave in January. PSG insist they are yet to make contact over Thomert, but their head of recruitment Alain Roche admitted they wanted a left sider. "I have not contacted anyone," said Roche. "Anyway, we won't do anything before we will materialise some departure (supposed to be Mateja Kezman). "If we can make it, we will think about hiring a midfielder capable to play on the left wing." PSG have also been linked with Newcastle's Jonas Gutierrez and Valencia's Vicente.
