Quique Setien is to leave Real Betis after two years as head coach at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

The 60-year-old Spaniard's departure was confirmed shortly after he led them to a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu over Real Madrid on the final day of the La Liga season.

A statement from Betis read: "Real Betis and their coach, Quique Setien, have decided that the Spaniard will not continue leading the first team from next season.

"In the last two years, Setien has taken Real Betis back to European competition, has significantly increased the value of the squad and has achieved great value wins that will go down in the history of Real Betis.

"Thanks, Quique. Good luck, Quique."
