Ronaldinho received a Spanish passport on Monday after signing a declaration in Catalunya that makes him a Spanish citizen.
The Brazilian superstar has been waiting over a year for dual nationality and the news means that Barcelona now have only three non-EU players.
Accompanied by his sister, the 27-year-old attended a court session in Gava to sign the Spanish consitution.
Barca president Joan Laporta began the process last summer as he sought to free up a non-EU place within the squad.
Ronaldinho travelled to court house at 10am and spent 20 minutes where he swore a pledge in front of a judge before putting pen-to-paper on all the legal documents.
He quickly pushed past the media throng and headed to Camp Nou for a light training session that was due to start without him.
Giovani Dos Santos is expected to go through the same process later this week, but he is still waiting for a date to attend court.
Samuel Eto'o and Yaya Toure will then be the only two non-EU players at the club, as players such as Rafa Marquez, Gaby Milito, Edmilson and Eidur Gudjohnsen already have European passports.
