Defender to return to Europe ahead of proposed Inter exit
Inter Milan have confirmed full-back Maxwell is heading back to Europe in order to complete his move to Barcelona.
Maxwell has been in pre-season training with his Inter team-mates in Los Angeles ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
Barca are believed to have had a bid in the region of €5million (£4.3m) accepted by Inter for the defender's services.
The 27-year-old Brazil international will now return to Europe to hold talks with Barca officials ahead of his proposed switch to Spain.
A statement on Inter's official website read: "After meeting with (manager) Jose Mourinho and the coaching staff, Maxwell has left the hotel premises.
"He will return to Europe to complete the paperwork for his transfer to Barcelona."
