With the World Cup underway, the rumour mill continues to whirl with players who could be on the move this summer.

Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the European media market for the best stories from around the continent.

Spain

Real Madrid are closing in on the signing of Alisson as the Liverpool transfer target wants his club future decided before Brazil's World Cup opener against Costa Rica on Sunday. Madrid have decided Alisson represents a more affordable option than Manchester United's David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea and are confident Roma will accept an offer between €60m-€65m (£52.4m-£56.8m). But even if Madrid do make the 25-year-old the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, he will not be considered automatic first choice and will have to battle Keylor Navas for the No.1 jersey. Barcelona have no alternative signing to Antoine Griezmann and will instead push on with the need to sign midfielders. Barca had been planning to sign Griezmann for more than a year but his rejection now means Philippe Coutinho will play further forward and Ousmane Dembele will be given a more important role in the squad. Barca will also now press on with attempts to buy Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich and Ajax's Frenkie de Jong. (Mundo Deportivo/Marca)

Griezmann's decision to stay at Atletico Madrid has affected more than just Barcelona as Real Sociedad have missed out on a €20m (£17.4m) windfall. The Basque club had a 20 per cent sell-on clause inserted into the €30m (£26.2m) transfer which took Griezmann from San Sebastian to Atletico in 2014. The lack of extra funds has forced Sociedad into reviewing their transfer plans for the summer. (Mundo Deportivo)

Roma sporting director Monchi has contacted Paris Saint-Germain over the availability of Newcastle United transfer target Alphonse Areola as they prepare to sell Alisson to Real Madrid. Roma are holding out for a fee of €75m (£65.5m) for the Brazil international but the transfer is nearing completion. PSG value Areola, who is in Russia with the France squad, at €35m (£30.5m) but are aware the 25-year-old also has interest from Napoli and the Premier League so will not be pressured into a quick sale. Inter Milan have turned to Barcelona wing-back Aleix Vidal after deciding against spending €35m (£30.5m) on Valencia's Joao Cancelo. Vidal is out of favour at the Camp Nou and is effectively up for sale with Inter wanting to pay a €10m (£8.7m) loan fee with a move to buying the Spaniard on a permanent deal next summer. Barca, however, are requesting a €15m (£13.1m) loan fee with the 28-year-old also a target of former club Sevilla. (Gazzetto dello Sport)

Juventus are close to sealing the double swoop of Cancelo from Valencia and CSKA Moscow and Russia hero Aleksandr Golovin. Portugal full-back Cancelo is expected to cost around €40m (£34.9m) while Golovin will be for around €20m (£17.4m). In order to help offset the cost, as Juve also pursue other targets, the Italian champions want to sell defender Daniele Rugani, midfielders Stefano Sturaro and Rolando Mandragora. (Tuttosport)

Real Madrid have beaten PSG and Bayern Munich to the €45m (£39.3m) signing of Santos wonderkid Rodrygo. Madrid will pay €20m (£17.4m) up front for the 17-year-old forward with the rest of the payment spread over the next few years. Bordeaux are considering a move for Southampton playmaker Sofiane Boufal, especially if they lose Malcom. Bordeaux are keen to make an impact in the Europa League and have set their sights on unsettled Boufal, 24, who has struggled for first-team football at St Mary's. Lyon are battling with Borussia Dortmund for Mainz centre-back Abdou Diallo but their initial bid has fallen short of the German club's €28m (£24.4m) valuation. Lyon hope to tempt Diallo to Ligue 1 by claiming he will be watched more by France coach Didier Deschamps than if he remains in the Bundesliga with Mainz or Dortmund. However, their first offer of €22m (£19.2m) has been rejected. (L'Equipe)

Bayern Munich will allow Manchester United-target Jerome Boateng to leave the Allianz Arena for the right price, because they are confident Niklas Sule is the long-term future of their defence. Sule, 22, turned down Chelsea last summer to move to Bayern from Hoffenheim and made an unexpected 42 appearances, more than any other centre-back at the club. As a result, club bosses are relaxed over Boateng's departure knowing they have a ready-made replacement. (Bild)

Stuttgart's chief scout Markus Losch is in Brazil with the Bundesliga club hoping to complete the signing of Palmeiras winger Roger Guedes. Guedes will cost in the region of €9m (£7.8m) with Stuttgart already having made a number of summer signings. (Sport Bild)
