Tottenham are in talks with Palermo for attacker Franco Vazquez but must pay 25 million euros to sign him, according to the Serie A club's president Maurizio Zamparini.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed he aims to sign a forward this summer, and Sky sources understand the club have been given permission by AZ Alkmaar to speak to Eredivisie top scorer Vincent Janssen.

Zamparini claims Tottenham are also interested in Vazquez, who scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 36 league appearances for Palermo last season, but adds Leicester City could also be a good fit for the Italy international.

"It's definitely more likely Vazquez will go to England - I'm asking for 25 million euros (£19.5m) for him," Zamparini told Corriere dello Sport.

"I have lower offers, but for me he's worth as much as (Domenico) Berardi. I can see him doing well anywhere. He's underrated and I don't know why.

"Unfortunately he's not one who talks much and he doesn't have the kind of character to impose himself. I'm in touch with Tottenham and I've asked them for 25 million euros, so let's see.

"He could even do well with Leicester. Milan and Roma were interested, but if I see that Berardi is moving for 25 million euros, then I would go for Vazquez."
