Internazionale defender Marco Materazzi is confident he will return to action within two months.
The 34-year-old World Cup-winner sustained a thigh injury during Italy's 3-1 friendly defeat to Hungary last month, and had been expected to face four months on the sidelines.
However, Materazzi insists the injury is not as serious as originally thought.
"I'll be back in two months," he told Reuters.
Meanwhile, Materazzi is confident Inter can cope with their UEFA Champions League opponents after being drawn against PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahce.
"They are tough teams, but I believe they are all within our reach. We are Inter and we must never forget this.
"We clearly have a few problems with suspensions and unfortunately my injury has added to these, but we must not start crying about them."
