Agent holds talks with Nerazzurri over Genoa striker

Diego Milito's agent has hinted that Inter Milan are in pole position to sign the Genoa striker. Milito has turned in a number of eye-catching performances for Genoa this season and netted 19 league goals from 29 appearances. The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and agent Fernando Hidalgo recently admitted there had been plenty of interest. Hidalgo has reiterated that a number of English clubs are monitoring his situation, but feels a switch to Inter could be more likely. Milito's representative spoke with Nerazzurri officials on Wednesday and believes there may be further developments as soon as the Serie A campaign ends. "He has had a lot of requests and he has already shown his value," Hidalgo told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Official interest

"I had a meeting with Inter yesterday where I've got an official interest for him, but the player is still under contract with Genoa. "It is an important phase of the Italian League and for this reason we don't want to disturb my client's mind by talking now of numbers, sums and contracts. "I agreed with Inter officials that at the end of the league we will have to meet to define the details. Milito would be a good help for (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic." Hidalgo added. "Anyway, I must say there are other sides who have spoken with me: other Italian and foreign clubs. But it's normal with Inter there is a privileged relationship."
