Benitez determined to ride out the storm at Inter
Rafa Benitez's agent has scotched rumours his client is due to meet club president Massimo Moratti for showdown talks.
The influential Gazzetta dello Sport
had claimed Morratti would hold talks with Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quillon to thrash out his future.
It followed claims in Italy that the former Liverpool chief had been sacked for his comments in the aftermath of the Club World Cup triumph, in Abu Dhabi.
Benitez gave Morratti what amounted to a 'back me or sack me' ultimatum, as he tries to extract a cash injection for players in the January window.
Inter have been disrupted by a host of injuries this term which has seen them fall 13 points behind fierce rivals AC Milan.
But Quillon insists Benitez is still at the helm at last year's UEFA Champions League winners.
"No-one has contacted me and I don't have a meeting with Massimo Morratti lined up," he told Italian national news agency Ansa
"Benitez wants to continue to do his job and coach so that the club improves."
Benitez is currently on holiday in Liverpool while Serie A is on a winter break but it remains to be seen whether he will be in charge when Inter's season resumes on 6th January against Napoli.
