There was a double promotion party in Italy on Sunday as Torino and Pescara both secured a spot in Serie A for next season.

Double delight in Serie B as promotion places are sown up

Seven-time Italian champions Torino regained their place in Serie A on Sunday after a three-year absence as a 2-0 win over Modena confirmed their promotion. Nnamdi Oduamadi and Giuseppe De Feudis were on target in either half to secure promotion back to the big time. Torino - who won their last title in 1976 and have been in the shadow of fellow Turin club Juventus since - will be joined in Serie A by Pescara. Zdenek Zeman's exciting young side confirmed a promotion of their own courtesy of a 3-1 victory on their travels to Genoa. Gianluca Caprari was Pescara's hero as his brace sandwiched Ciro Immobile's effort to get the promotion party started. Verona, Sassuolo, Vicenza and Sampdoria are all vying to join them in Serie A via Italy's play-off system.
