Still no place for Adriano

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is refusing to bring Adriano in from the cold.

Brazilian not in Inter's Champions League squad

Jose Mourinho is refusing to bring Adriano in from the cold after he decided not to include him in his squad for Inter Milan's UEFA Champions League clash with Anorthosis Famagusta. Inter travel to Cyprus on Tuesday - but Adriano, who has been a regular in Mourinho's line-up so far this year, will not be involved. This is because the Brazilian was late to training early this week and was left out of both of their Serie A games this week. "In the last few months if there's someone who has tried to take care of him, not only as a coach but also as a colleague, it's definitely me," said the former Chelsea boss. "But there comes a time, especially when you are in charge of a group of 29 players, that you can no longer afford to give someone special treatment or more liberties than any of the others. "In my opinion, the principle of the group is fundamental. The players have to know that." One player that has been forgiven by Mourinho is Julio Cruz, who was also dropped from their last two games after he failed to follow on-pitch orders.

Chivu blow

There was some bad news for Mourinho when it was confirmed that defender Christian Chivu would be ruled out for a month with a knee injury. Chivu suffered the problem during their clash with Reggina, although the injury will not require surgery.
