Napoli knock out Inter to set up semi with Siena

Reigning champions Inter Milan bowed at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Napoli, while Siena edged out Chievo in the night's other tie. Edinson Cavani scored both goals as Napoli got the better of Inter 2-0 in an enthralling match at the Stadio San Paolo. The breakthrough did not arrive until the 50th minute, when Cavani stepped up to slot in a penalty after being fouled by Thiago Motta. Inter tried to fight back but could not find an equaliser and Cavani's second just before the final whistle sealed Napoli's progress. Siena lie in wait in the semi-finals following their narrow 1-0 victory away to Chievo. There was nothing to choose between the sides in a keenly-contested first half, before Mattia Destro struck for Siena early in the second period. Paolo Grossi was sent off on the hour mark to leave Siena with ten men, but Chievo could not make their numerical advantage count in a tense finale. While Siena go on to play Napoli in the last four, the other semi-final will be between Juventus and either AC Milan or Lazio.
