Cristian Chivu's agent insists that the Romanian stopper is not currently in any rush to open talks with Inter Milan.
The 31-year-old defender has been with Inter since 2007, but he has started just nine league games this season.
And his agent Victor Becali has denied claims in Italy that they have met with Inter.
"There was no meeting with Inter Milan and we have not yet arranged an appointment," Becali told
Calciomercato.
"But I think we'll meet by the end of the month.
"Are we optimistic about an extension? There is no need to feel optimistic, we're not desperate.
"If there is an opportunity to stay at Inter then that will be good, otherwise we'll assess other options."
