Milan boss admits he would welcome Barca striker

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted he is interested in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Barcelona striker only moved to Camp Nou from Milan's city rivals Inter last summer, but has failed to fully settle in Spain. The Catalan giants have bolstered their front line with the signing of David Villa from Valencia, meaning Ibrahimovic is not guaranteed a starting role with competition now fierce. The Swedish international has previously stated that he wanted to stay in Spain, but Allegri is clearly interested in the player, although a deal to bring the player back to the San Siro would be difficult.

Winner

"Ibrahimovic has always been a winner, he's shown that and he's (still) showing that it would be important to have him in our squad, but I (only) talk about Milan players," said Allegri. "Right now there's no sense in talking about Ibrahimovic's arrival, I prefer sure things, we'll talk about him if and when he arrives." Due to the 28-year-old's hefty price tag, Milan are unlikely to be able to afford the player, a sentiment backed up by club official Ariedo Braida. "If he's given to us as a present we'll take him, I like great players," Braida said.
