Brazilian midfielder confident he will be playing in Italy next season

Santos' Brazil international Ganso claims AC and Inter Milan are battling it out for his signature. The midfielder will remain in his homeland until the completion of the Copa Libertadores, but is expected to be on the move over the summer. A switch to Italy has been widely touted, with the 21-year-old known be attracting interest from Serie A. Ganso admits he expects to be playing his football there next season, with both sides of the Milan divide keen to secure his services. "I have the chance to be transferred to European football and I am sure I will be a success," he said. "My plan is to win the Copa Libertadores and then be transferred to a European team, perhaps an Italian one.

Challenge

"I am sure that next season I will be playing for one of the Milan teams. "Leonardo [Inter boss] calls me frequently because he wants me in his team. I respect him very much. Inter are a great team and anybody would want to play there. "My agent has also told me that Milan have expressed an interest. I am ready to go to Italy and take on this challenge." On the price tag placed on his head by Santos, Ganso added: "The market value of €50million (£42m) that Santos has put on me is unrealistic, but I will leave negotiations to my agent. "They know how to resolve these problems and will speak with the president."
