Moroccan set to sign from Genoa

Fiorentina are on the verge of signing midfielder Houssine Kharja from Genoa on a co-ownership deal. The 28-year-old Moroccan is an experienced Serie A performer, having played in Italy since 2001. He was loaned out to Inter Milan for the second half of last season with a view to a permanent deal but nothing materialised and he is now set to join Fiorentina from Genoa. Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino said: "There is the agreement but until he signs it is best not to make any further comment." Kharja's agent, Giuseppe Galli, also declared that his client would be delighted if the move is finalised. "He is close," Galli told Firenze Viola. "I know that an agreement between the two clubs has basically been agreed, even if I don't know about the details. "Now I need to speak with the Viola, something which I think will occur during the next few days. "I can say that Houssine would be very happy to join Fiorentina, it's a fantastic destination. We're hopeful it will be done."
