Stuttgart have appointed Holstein Kiel's Tim Walter as their new head coach from next season.
The 43-year-old has signed a two-year deal, and departs after leading Holstein to sixth place in the 2. Bundesliga this season.
Stuttgart head of sport Thomas Hitzlsperger said: "It was pretty clear in our talks that Tim Walter's approach and concept of attacking football really fit well with Stuttgart.
"Together we want the focus to be on bringing through our own talent, and Tim has a wealth of experience and, above all, conviction, in that regard."
Walter, a former Bayern Munich youth coach, replaces Markus Weinzierl, who left the club last month.
Stuttgart finished 16th in the Bundesliga this campaign, meaning they face a promotion/relegation play-off against Union Berlin to determine what division they will be in next season.
