Bayern win at Leverkusen, while Bremen smash eight

Bayern Munich maintained their unbeaten record with victory at Bayer Leverkusen, while Werder Bremen put eight past Arminia Bielefeld. Champions Stuttgart, meanwhile, suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat away to Hansa Rostock. Luca Toni's goal five minutes before half-time was enought to give leaders Bayern the points at Leverkusen. Bremen were in lethal form at home to Arminia after Peter Niemeyer opened the scoring in an 8-1 drubbing. Hugo Almeida made it 2-0 on 35 minutes, but Arminia pulled one back 60 seconds later through Artur Wichniarek. Boubacar Sanogo still had time to score twice before the interval, and Per Mertesacker scored Bremen's fifth just before the hour. Substitute Markus Rosenberg got in on the act on 66 minutes, before Diego and Almeida scored in the last five minutes. Stuttgart slipped up at Rostock, who scored on 16 and 18 minutes through Tobias Rathgeb and Alves Orestes. Mario Gomez gave Stuttgart hope with a goal on 73 minutes, but the champions were unable to muster an equaliser. Wolfsburg twice came from behind to force a 2-2 draw at Hamburg, who had gone ahead on 17 minutes through Bastian Reinhardt. Grafitu's 57th minute penalty squared the game up, only for Dutch ace Rafael van der Vaart to fire Hamburg back in front 20 minutes from time. But Wolfsburg refused to give up and equalised for a second time on 88 minutes through Ashkan Dejagah. Promoted Karlsruhe produced an impressive performance to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at home. Massimilian Porcello put Karlsruhe in front on 25 minutes, but Dortmund levelled before the break through Christian Worns. Mario Eggimann had Karlsruhe back in the lead on 64 minutes and Sebastian Freis made the game safe 15 minutes from time. A topsy-turvy game at Bochum saw Nurnberg score an equaliser 10 minutes from time to snatch a 3-3 draw. Nurnberg had gone in front through Peer Kluge's 40th minute goal before Stanislav Sestak levelled three minutes later. Kluge restored the visitors' lead on the hour mark, only for Marcin Miecel to draw Bochum level on 66 minutes. A minute later and Bochum were ahead through Sestak, but Nurnberg grabbed a point through Zvjezdan Misimovic's goal on 80 minutes.
