Dutch midfielder open to offers as battle for his signature hots up

Mark van Bommel is in talks with AC Milan, but claims there is also Premier League interest in his services. The Dutch midfielder is set to become a free agent in the summer, with his contract at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich running down. The clamour to secure his signature has already begun, with a number of clubs from across Europe keen to land the combative 33-year-old. Van Bommel insists no decision has been taken as yet regarding his future, with there no guarantee he will leave Bayern, but admits he will consider any offers put to him. He told Radio 538: "I've read some of the rumours about me leaving Bayern Munich. It's not like I read everything, but my name comes up quite a lot on the internet at the moment. "They're right when they write that there's some interest, but nothing's serious at the moment. "There are a number of clubs from England, Italy and Holland that want me. "I haven't spoken to any clubs yet but I will definitely consider a move."

One club to have already opened discussions with Van Bommel are Serie A leaders AC Milan, but they are yet to strike a deal. The Dutchman added: "Milan have also shown an interest in signing me. "We are currently in talks with them. I don't really start thinking about it though until the interest gets really serious. "There have been plenty of offers, but I've turned down several options. "I need to have a good feeling with an eventual new club and I have to feel at home there." Van Bommel's agent feels a switch to Milan is the most likely option at the moment, despite reports suggesting Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani considers the former Barcelona man to be too old. Mino Raiola told "Galliani said Van Bommel is too old? Well, I think that under the right conditions they could take him and work well with him. "I don't usually speak up when the market is open because I am focused on my work, but there is still time for Van Bommel to join Milan before 31st January. We will see what happens."
