Everton keen on signing Marvin Plattenhardt from Hertha Berlin

Everton are interested in signing Germany international left-back Marvin Plattenhardt, according to Sky sources.

The 26-year-old is part of Germany's World Cup squad and has six caps.

Plattenhardt currently plays for Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and made 33 appearances last season, scoring once.

Watford were also interested in Plattenhardt but appear set to sign Bologna left-back Adam Masina.

One source has told Sky Sports News that Everton have also been keen on the former Italy U21 international.
