Feyenoord fans riot after side miss chance to win title at Excelsior

Feyenoord needed just a win to be crowned Eredivisie champions on Sunday – but instead a 3-0 defeat at local rivals Excelsior led riots in the streets of Rotterdam.
Giovanni van Bronckhurst's side required three points at Stadion Woudestein to secure their first league title in 18 years, with 50,000 Feyenoord supporters gathering at their home ground to watch the match on giant screens.
But second-half goals from Nigel Hasselbaink, Stanley Elbers and Ryan Koolwijk ensured the champagne was well and truly put on ice and leaves Feyenoord needing to match Ajax's result on the final day of the season to be sure of clinching the championship.
The loss certainly did not go down well with the Feyenoord faithful, with a number of fans clashing with riot police outside of the De Kuip following the full-time whistle.
Flares and bottles were thrown at riot police, while a number of vehicles were also attacked in the clashes.
