With a World Cup to navigate around, it’s little surprise countless clubs across Europe are attempting to complete their transfer business early this summer.

And that means the gossip columns across the continent are full of news of potential deals. So we asked our friends at Football Whispers to scour the European newspapers and websites to bring you the latest transfer rumblings.

Spain

Sergio Aguero could be heading back to Atletico Madrid as a replacement for Antoine Griezmann. Atleti are bracing themselves for Griezmann's departure with the France international set to join Barcelona for €100m. The club will use some of that fee to try and tempt Aguero back but are aware he may want to stay with Manchester City. (Mundo Deportivo)

Barcelona are desperate to sell Paco Alcacer to help raise funds for the signings of Griezmann and Arthur from Gremio. The Spaniard has made just eight La Liga starts this season and has struggled to make any impact since signing from Valencia in 2016 for €30m. Alcacer's former club were thought to be interested but sporting director Mateu Alemany has ruled out a return for the 24-year-old. (Sport)

France

Paris Saint-Germain expect to be punished by UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play rules over the purchases of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for a combined €402m. UEFA opened an investigation into PSG's dealings last September and will release their findings by the end of this month. PSG were fined €60m in 2014 for falling foul of FFP regulations. (L'Equipe)

Arsenal have contacted Layvin Kurzawa's representatives to determine if the PSG full-back would be interested in a move to the Emirates. Tottenham and Chelsea have previously tried and failed to sign the France international who is surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes and can leave for €25m. (RMC Sport)

Real Madrid's primary goalkeeper target this summer is not David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois, but Roma No.1 Alisson. Real are preparing an offer for the Brazil international, who is valued at around €70m and is contracted at the Stadio Olimpico until 2021. Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of Alisson and the 25-year-old's wages won't be in the same bracket as De Gea or Courtois' (RMC Sport)

Southampton's survival hero Manolo Gabbiadini could be heading back to Serie A this summer with Torino desperate to sign a striker. Toro are keen to pair Gabbiadini with Andrea Belotti and the 26-year-old is targeting an Italy return to try to get back in the national team set-up. (Tuttosport)

Stefan De Vrij has signed a four-year contract with Inter Milan after failing to agree an extension with Lazio. The Dutch centre-back will join Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez and Juventus' Kwadwo Asamoah as new Inter players on July 1. De Vrij could face his new employers on May 20 as Lazio play in Inter in their final Serie A game of the season. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Napoli are lining up Benfica full-back Alex Grimaldo and Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet as potential additions should they lose key players this summer. Algerian left-back Faouzi Ghoulam looks the most likely to leave Stadio San Paolo with Grimaldo a like-for-like replacement while Lenglet would be signed if centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is sold. Germany

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi doesn't expect to be called up by Germany for the World Cup. Mustafi was a part of the 2014 winning-squad but did not feature in recent friendlies against Spain and Brazil and barely played in qualifying. The 26-year-old has revealed he is in regular contact with national team head coach Joachim Low ahead of the squad announcement on May 15. (Bild)

Red Bull Salzburg manager Marco Rose has denied he's been approached to take over at Red Bull Leipzig. Rose reportedly met with Leipzig official Helmut Gross but the 41-year-old has dismissed the talk as "fables". Rose is also thought to be on the radar of Borussia Dortmund after leading Salzburg to the Austrian championship and semi-finals of the Europa League. (Suddeutsche Zeitung)
