Dutch giants loan youngster with view to a permanent deal

Feyenoord have announced the loan signing of Serbian defender Aleksandar Ignjatovic from Borac Cacak. The 21-year-old will join Mario Been's squad on loan, but with the option to make the deal permanent from his parent club. The promising Ignjatovic had only been at Borac for one season after his arrival from Serbian second division side Radnicki Nis in 2008. However, after just 66 league games in Serbia, the youngster has impressed to prompt interest from the Dutch giants, who will analyse the player's abilities over the course of the year before making a decision. The Serbian will provide cover for first-team right-backs Ron Vlaar and Norichio Nieveld, who currently fight for the position. With Vlaar having trouble with injuries over the past couple of seasons and Nieveld also lacking experience, the arrival of Ignjatovic will add healthy competition to the side.
