Leaders PSV Eindhoven registered their sixth successive Eredivisie victory on Wednesday as they defeated Excelsior 1-0 at the Philips Stadion.

Hirving Lozano slotted home in the 17th minute having been teed up by a delightful Luuk de Jong flick, 10 minutes after PSV's crossbar had been rattled by a Mike van Duinen shot.

PSV are seven points clear of second-placed Ajax, who won 4-2 at second-bottom Roda JC.

For the second game in a row the Amsterdammers came from behind to triumph, this time going 1-0 down when Simon Gustafson scored in the third minute.

Donny van de Beek levelled in the 12th, a superb Hakim Ziyech strike put Ajax in front 13 minutes later and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar made it 3-1 with 15 minutes to go.

Jorn Vancamp replied for the home side before Huntelaar swiftly added his second.
