Eredivisie: Ajax fire three past leaders PSV to close gap at the top

Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven suffered a first league defeat in three months as Ajax hit them with three second-half goals to win 3-0 at the Amsterdam Arena.
PSV had won all 10 games since a 2-0 loss at Heerenveen on September 10 but they showed few signs of that form on Sunday as Ajax dominated matters.
Donny van de Beek sent a shot narrowly wide early on before Kasper Dolberg and Matthijs de Ligt went close with headers either side of half-time as Ajax built up pressure on their opponents.
They were eventually rewarded after 62 minutes when David Neres opened the scoring and it was just three minutes later when Lasse Schone doubled their lead.
The chances continued to come for Ajax and Dolberg was narrowly off target before Maximilian Wober became the latest home player to go close with a header.
Derrick Luckassen provided a rare threat for PSV midway through the second half before Van de Beek's 72nd-minute strike rounded off the victory.
PSV's lead over second-placed AZ Alkmaar has been trimmed to five points this weekend, while third-placed Ajax are now seven points adrift of the summit.
Ten-man Roda JC moved off the bottom of the table thanks to a 2-2 home draw against FC Groningen - but they will be disappointed with a point after taking a 2-0 lead through Simon Gustafson's double.
Tom van Weert pulled one back before half-time and then equalised from the penalty spot in the 59th-minute, immediately after Roda's Adil Auassar had been sent off for a straight red card.
The matches between FC Utrecht and Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam versus Vitesse were both postponed due to frozen pitches.
