Ajax moved a step closer to reclaiming the Eredivisie title on Sunday with a thumping 4-0 win over FC Twente in Amsterdam.
Vaclav Cerny's first-half goal put Frank de Boer's side on their way to victory before Mike van der Hoorn, Viktor Fischer and Amin Younes added efforts in the last 10 minutes.
Their win means Ajax will confirm the title, provided they win at De Graafschap next week and rivals PSV do not also win and overturn a goal difference of six in the process, at PEC Zwolle.
PSV were forced to work had to keep their slim title hopes alive before eventually cruising home to a 6-2 win over bottom club and relegated Cambuur.
Marco van Ginkel's opener was quickly cancelled out by Calvin Mac-Intosch for the visitors before goals from Luuk de Jong and Gaston Pereiro put the hosts in control.
Jack Byrne reduced the deficit for the visitors before half-time, but second-half goals from Adam Maher, Jetro Williams and a second from van Ginkel sealed PSV's win to keep them level on points with Ajax.
Feyenoord confirmed third place with a 1-0 win at Willem II, Anass Achahbar scoring the only goal of the game and sending the hosts into the relegation play-off places with one game to go.
AZ all but confirmed fourth place and consigned De Graafschap to the relegation play-offs with a 4-1 in Alkmaar.
Mark Diemers gave the visitors a shock early lead but goals from Vincent Janssen, Ridgeciano Haps, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Joris van Overeem earned a comfortable win.
Utrecht won 3-1 at Vitesse to strengthen their hold on fifth place, while Paul Gladon's late equaliser gave sixth-placed Heracles a 1-1 draw against Den Haag.
Excelsior twice came from behind to grab a 2-2 draw against seventh-placed PEC Zwolle which moved the hosts out of the relegation play-off zone with one game to go.
Roda JC confirmed their top-flight safety with a 2-1 win at NEC, while Groningen were 2-1 winners at Heerenveen.
