Following Tottenham's dramatic victory over Manchester City on away goals, we look at the times VAR has shaped matches in the Champions League this season.
With VAR introduced for this season's knockout stages, Spurs benefited from its implementation at City's expense in an enthralling quarter-final second leg on Wednesday.
Manchester United also profited in their last-16 match at Paris Saint-Germain, while Liverpool were also benefactors on Wednesday night.
Here are the 11 occasions a decision has been reversed…
February 13 - Ajax vs Real Madrid - Last-16 first leg
Ajax goal awarded - Decision reversed
The first VAR consultation in the Champions League saw Nicolas Tagliafico's first-half goal ruled out for Ajax after referee Damir Skomina deemed Dusan Tadic was offside and interfering with play by standing in front of Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Ajax went on to lose the first leg 2-1, but advanced after winning 4-1 at Real.
February 20 - Schalke vs Man City - Last-16 first leg
Schalke penalty not awarded - Decision reversed
Man City were leading 1-0 in Germany when Daniel Caligiuri's effort struck the arm of Nicolas Otamendi, and though referee Carlos del Cerro Grande had awarded a corner, he pointed to the spot with Nabil Bentaleb converting. City went on to win 3-2 before a 7-0 home win saw them advance 10-2 on aggregate.
February 20 - Atletico Madrid vs Juventus - Last-16 first leg
Two incidents: Atletico penalty awarded - Decision reversed, Atletico goal awarded - Decision reversed
Atletico won a first-half penalty when Diego Costa was brought down by Mattia de Sciglio, but that was overturned when VAR noted the incident occurred outside the area.
In the second half, Alvaro Morata thought he headed Atletico in front, but VAR ruled the goal out after he appeared to push Juve defender Giorgio Chiellini in the build up. Atletico won the first leg 2-0 but were knocked out 3-2 on aggregate.
March 6 - PSG vs Man Utd - Last-16 second leg
Man Utd penalty not awarded - Decision reversed
A dramatic finale in Paris saw Manchester United handed a 94th-minute penalty via VAR after Diogo Dalot's shot hit Presnel Kimpembe's arm. It was a contentious decision, but Marcus Rashford duly converted to seal a memorable 3-1 win as United advanced on away goals.
March 6 - Porto vs Roma - Last-16 second leg
Porto penalty not awarded - Decision reversed
Yet more drama at the death. With the score 3-3 on aggregate and 2-1 on the night, referee Cuneyt Cakir awarded a 117th-minute penalty to Porto after Alessandro Florenzi dragged back Fernando in the box. Alex Telles scored the penalty and Porto advanced to face Liverpool in the quarters.
March 12 - Man City vs Schalke - Last-16 second leg
Man City goal not awarded - Decision reversed
VAR awarded City their fourth goal on the night in the 56th minute after Raheem Sterling was deemed onside when tapping in from Leroy Sane's cross.
April 9 - Tottenham vs Man City - Quarter-final first leg
Man City penalty not awarded - Decision reversed
Manchester City were awarded an 11th-minute penalty after referee Bjorn Kuipers consulted the pitch-side monitor and penalising Danny Rose for blocking Raheem Sterling's shot with his arm. Sergio Aguero went on to see his penalty saved by Hugo Lloris before Spurs won 1-0. The second leg? Well, scroll down…
April 16 - Barcelona vs Man Utd - Quarter-final second leg
Barcelona penalty awarded - Decision reversed
Barcelona were awarded a penalty in the 11th minute at the Nou Camp on Tuesday, but the decision was reversed when referee Felix Brych deemed Fred got the ball before Ivan Rakitic. Barca went on to win 3-0 and reach the semis 4-0 on aggregate.
April 16 - Juventus vs Ajax - Quarter-final second leg
Juve goal awarded - Decision stands
Cristiano Ronaldo headed in his 126th Champions Leauge goal, with the goal standing after referee Clement Turpin consulted his VAR officials with Ajax's Joel Veltman going down inside the box. However, it was his own team-mate De Ligt who was the perpetrator. Ajax remarkably fought back to win 2-1 and reach the semis 3-2 on aggregate.
April 17 - Porto vs Liverpool - Quarter-final second leg
Liverpool goal not awarded - Decision reversed
Leading 2-0 going into the quarter-final second leg at Porto, Liverpool scored the all-important opener after VAR ruled Sadio Mane was onside in the 28th minute. Jurgen Klopp's side went on to win the match 4-1.
April 17 - Man City vs Tottenham - Quarter-final second leg
Two decisions: Tottenham goal awarded - Decision stands, Man City goal awarded - Decision reversed
In an all-time Champions League classic, Fernando Llorente's 73rd-minute strike ensured Spurs advanced on away goals after referee Cuneyt Cakir checked VAR for a suspected handball and allowed the goal to stand.
But Spurs' passage into the semis was only confirmed after Sterling was denied a stoppage time winner with a VAR check ruling Aguero was offside in the build-up. After jubilant celebrations from the home fans, players and staff, it was agony when realising their quadruple hopes had been dashed.
