Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega has admitted that he is hoping to complete a move to Argentinian champions River Plate this summer.

The 29-year-old, who has one more deal remaining on his current deal at Craven Cottage, has been heavily linked with a departure from English football following Fulham’s relegation to the Championship.

Rodallega joined from Wigan in 2012 but managed to hit just nine goals in all competitions during the course of his two-year spell in London.

River are said to be in the market for a new striker and Rodallega says that he would be keen on making the switch to Argentina.

"I am going to help for my transfer to River to be done. I think that the negotiation is not going to be easy, but I would love to have the chance of playing at River," he told TyC Sports.

"I would like a change in my career and River is a very important team that is playing in many competitions this year and the next.

"So it is interesting for what all that could mean for my career.

"I have been in English football for five years so I see that a transfer could be something important for the owners and me."
