Austria Vienna mascot out for the season after drunken antics

Austria Vienna’s mascot – a purple-cloaked lion called Super Leo – has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season after he collapsed in a drunken stupor last weekend.
Super Leo, clutching his furry Lions head, appeared to be so drunk at last weekend’s home game that he could not get up without the help of medical staff.
It later emerged that he had been out celebrating his 42nd birthday the night before the game.
The hapless mascot was included on the club's official list of injuries and suspensions for their match against Sturm Graz on Saturday. After detailing the players and their injuries, the Violets' website said: "Super Leo will be out for the rest of the season as he is feeling under the weather."
A spokesman for the club later said the incident "attracted more international attention than our qualification for the Champions League" last season.
The club said Super Leo would not appear in any more home games this season because of "circulatory problems".
Austria Vienna are currently sixth in the league, 26 points adrift of leaders and defending champions Red Bull Salzburg and 16 points behind arch-rivals Rapid Vienna in second place.
