Levein looking forward to August encounter at Hampden

Scotland will face Denmark in a friendly at Hampden Park in August as part of Craig Levein's preparations for a Euro 2012 qualifying double-header. Levein's side, who lost 2-0 to Brazil on Sunday, face home dates with the Czech Republic and Lithuania in September and the Scotland coach wants to ensure his players are fully tuned up. The game with Denmark will be staged on 10th August and follows on from the Carling Nations Cup meetings with Wales and the Republic of Ireland in May. "This game will be another tough challenge for us as we put the finishing touches to our preparations for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Lithuania," said Levein. "Denmark will be a completely different proposition from our last opponents, Brazil. But it's exactly the type of game we need going into the qualifiers, and will allow us to build on the Carling Nations Cup matches against Wales and Republic of Ireland in May. "We can't wait to walk out at Hampden again, and I'm sure the Scotland supporters will be looking forward to watching the national team on home turf as we gear up for the last half of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign." Before the match at Hampden, Billy Stark's Under 21s take on Norway in a friendly at St Mirren Park at 4pm. Levein added: "With the Under 21s playing in Paisley earlier in the day, it promises to be a great day of Scotland action for the Tartan Army."
