Martin Tyler reveals the answer to last week's teaser as well as bringing you his latest teaser, ahead of Newcastle's game against Liverpool

Fewest home goals in a Premier League season? Most assists in Europe's top-five leagues? All-foreign playing XI's?

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler has the answers to those questions and more in his weekly stats column, and don't forget to try his teaser in the video above.

Martin's starting stats

Man City captain Vincent Kompany has now scored 20 goals for the club, many of which have been vital ones. His previous strike, before Monday's night wonder goal that saw off Leicester, was to give City the lead at home to Man Utd in last April's Manchester derby - although their city rivals did come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Meanwhile, in the 2016-17 season, the centre-back scored three times, all in the business end of the season in April and May - 3-0 at Southampton, 5-0 at home to Crystal Palace and 5-0 at Watford.

Take a moment to enjoy Vincent Kompany's goal from all the best angles

In fact, the only time Kompany has ever started the season as a goalscoring defender was in the 2015-16 campaign when in that August, he scored in his first two appearances at West Brom and Chelsea.

However, in 2014-15, the Belgian did not net at all, while the 2013-14 season was his most productive campaign with five strikes, including a goal in Barcelona, one in a 2-1 home win over Liverpool and the final-day title-clincher at home to West Ham.

Kompany's strike was his first effort on target from outside the box since 2013

And in the 2012-13 campaign, Kompany was on target just once, again towards the end of the season against Newcastle. Meanwhile, in 2011-12 the central defender scored at Liverpool in a 1-1 draw and most famously in City's 1-0 home win over United that was the catalyst to their first-ever Premier League title.

Home discomforts

Huddersfield ended the season with just 10 home goals in the Premier League. Has anyone ever scored fewer? (Barry, Hull)

MARTIN SAYS: In short, no. Huddersfield's tally of 10 in the fewest of any team in Premier League history. In fact, no team in the top four divisions have scored fewer home goals this season.

And Huddersfield share the record for fewest home goals with Manchester City. Stuart Pearce's side did not score a home goal after New Year's Day in the 2006-07 season.

Huddersfield are also the first club in top-flight history to fail to score twice in any home game across the season. Given their lack of goals, it is no surprise that Huddersfield have won only two league matches at the John Smith's Stadium in 2018/19. That is one more than Derby, in 2007-08, and Sunderland, in 2005-06, managed though.

Home wins in the Premier League

Season Team Home wins
2007/08 Derby 1
2005/06 Sunderland 1
1997/98 Crystal Palace 2
2015/16 Aston Villa 2
2012/13 QPR 2
2018/19 Huddersfield 2

Unwelcome half-centuries

Arsenal and Manchester United have both now conceded 50-plus goals in the Premier League this season. Is this the first time two top-six clubs have conceded so many in the same campaign? (Jo, Brighton)

MARTIN SAYS: Glenn Murray's penalty was the 50th goal that Arsenal have conceded this season while Manchester United have let in 52 goals in the Premier League. It is only the second time two sides in the top six have conceded 50 or more goals in a season since the Premier League was formed.

The only other occurrence was in 2013/14 when Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool came second but were breached on 50 occasions while Tottenham's defence leaked 51 goals as they finished sixth.

Defence the best form of attack

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have 11 Premier League assists each for Liverpool this season. What is the most assists a club has had from defenders in a season? (Adam, Derby)

MARTIN SAYS: Alexander-Arnold and Robertson make up the bulk of them and Liverpool's defenders have now provided 26 assists in the league in this campaign, which is a Premier League record - and by some distance, with Virgil van Dijk (two) and stand-in right-back James Milner (two) contributing the others.

You have to go back to the 1992/93 campaign for the previous best when Oldham and QPR were both aided by 20 assists from their defenders, with Oldham's Gunnar Halle and QPR's David Bardsley both setting up seven goals. However, that was a 42-game season.

The 11 assists Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have each registered has, with one game to play, given them a share of the Premier League record for a defender with Everton left-back Leighton Baines in 2010/11.

Most assists from defenders

Season Team Assists from defenders
2018/19 Liverpool 26
1992/93 Oldham 20
1992/93 QPR 20
1997/98 Leeds 18
1997/98 Aston Villa 17

Hazard - the assist king?

Eden Hazard now has more assists than any other player in the 'big five' leagues in Europe. How close is he to the Premier League assist record? (Sandeep, London)

Most assists in Europe

Player Team Assists
Eden Hazard Chelsea 15
Ryan Fraser Bournemouth 14
Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund 14
Lionel Messi Barcelona 13
Pablo Sarabia Sevilla 13
Teji Savanier Nimes 13

MARTIN SAYS: Well, barring an incredible feat against Leicester next weekend, he is going to come up just short. Hazard has 15 assists, one more than Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth and Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho, but is five shy of Thierry Henry's Premier League best.

Highlights from Chelsea's win over Watford in the Premier League

However, Hazard has also scored 16 goals and is only the fourth player to get 15 or more goals and 15 or more assists in a Premier League season. The other three? Eric Cantona (1992-93), Matt Le Tissier (1994-95) and Henry (2002-03), although the first duo did it in 42-games seasons.

Premier League record assists

Season Player Assists
2002/03 Thierry Henry 20
2015/16 Mesut Ozil 19
2016/17 Kevin De Bruyne 18
2014/15 Cesc Fabregas 18
2004/05 Frank Lampard 18
2007/08 Cesc Fabregas 17
1992/93 Eric Cantona 16
2017/18 Kevin De Bruyne 16

Diversity at Chelsea

Chelsea named a starting XI with no English players for the 20th time this season against Watford on Sunday. Is that a Premier League record? (Sarah, Kettering)

MARTIN SAYS: Chelsea may have started the game with no English players on the pitch, but it was Ruben Loftus-Cheek who opened the scoring in the win against Watford, while Gary Cahill also came on as a late sub in his final appearance for the club.

Only Arsenal, though, have started more games in a single Premier League campaign without any English players in the starting lineup - Arsene Wenger sent out such a lineup on 33 occasions in 2006-07 and 27 times the following year.

Incidentally, Chelsea were also the first team in Premier League history to field an all-foreign XI, including nine different nations, in a 2-1 win at Southampton on Boxing Day 1999.

Chelsea lineup: Ed De Goey; Albert Ferrer, Celestine Babayaro, Emerson Thome, Frank Leboeuf; Dan Petrescu, Didier Deschamps, Gus Poyet, Robert Di Matteo; Gabrielle Ambrosetti, Tore Andre Flo.
