Santiago Solari will become Real Madrid's permanent head coach after agreeing a deal until the end of the season, the Spanish Football Federation has confirmed.
Spanish league rules state a caretaker manager can only be in charge for 15 days and, with Solari's interim spell due to end on Tuesday, Real have been forced into a decision.
On October 30 the former Real player replaced Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked after just 14 matches in charge, on an interim basis initially.
It is understood the Real hierarchy have been impressed with the job Solari has done at the Bernabeu since stepping up from coaching the club's B team, 'Castilla'.
The 42-year-old has won all four of his matches in charge at an aggregate score of 15-4.
