Ligue 1 round-up: Lyon survive late scare to maintain pressure on Lille

Lyon survived a late scare as they beat Guingamp 2-1 to keep the pressure on Lille for second place in Ligue 1.

Martin Terrier gave Lyon a 15th-minute lead, following up after Houssem Aouar's effort was parried, but Guingamp quickly equalised when Felix Eboa Eboa headed in Pedro Rebocho's corner.

Captain Nabil Fekir brilliantly restored Lyon's advantage ten minutes before half-time when he took Aouar's pass on his chest, stepped inside on to his left foot and swung a curling effort into the far top corner from 20 yards.

Anthony Lopes denied Alexandre Mendy an equaliser, while Lyon's Moussa Dembele saw a header brilliantly saved by Marc-Aurele Caillard.

Lopes saved from Nolan Roux, who then rattled the crossbar in stoppage time as Lyon, who saw centre-backs Jason Denayer and Marcelo suffer injuries, clung on for the points. They trail Lille, who play Montpellier on Sunday, by three points and leaders Paris St Germain by 13.

Nimes earlier won 2-0 against Dijon, sparked by a superb 45-yard strike from Teji Savanier in the first half.
