Gelson Martins ensured Monaco finally escaped Ligue 1's bottom three as his goal downed Nantes 1-0.
The on-loan Atletico Madrid winger has helped struggling Monaco revive their fortunes since arriving in January and his sliding finish in the 13th minute at Stade Louis II was a second goal in two games.
It was largely one-way traffic for the rest of the match, with Nantes goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu forced to deny Aleksandr Golovin, Falcao and Rony Lopes.
Mario Balotelli scored his third goal in four appearances for new club Marseille as the south-coast club beat Amiens 2-0 at the Orange Velodrome.
Florian Thauvin fired OM ahead in the 20th minute, his neat finish from the left giving him a fourth goal against Amiens in all competitions this season.
Former Manchester City striker Balotelli continued his hot streak for Marseille by turning and shooting past Regis Gurtner five minutes later.
Elsewhere, improving Angers registered a third straight win by defeating seventh-placed Nice 3-0.
Stephane Bahoken broke the deadlock from the penalty spot just before half-time and Angelo Fulgini doubled Les Scoistes' lead when play resumed. At the death, Cristian Lopez scored their third.
