Spurs midfielder to be assessed in six weeks

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has undergone a surgical procedure to his right ankle and is expected to be out of action for the next couple of months. Huddlestone has made just four appearances for the North London giants this campaign before being told by medical staff at the club that he needed an operation. The 24-year-old most recently played for the club at the end of August when he was used as a second-half substitute in the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City at White Hart Lane. Tottenham said in a statement on their official website: "Tom Huddlestone has today (Friday) undergone a surgical procedure to his right ankle. "The midfielder will be further assessed by the specialist in six weeks' time, after which a timeframe for a return to training will be determined." Huddlestone has been an established figure in the Spurs line-up in recent seasons, following his move from Derby back in summer of 2005.
