Jose Antonio Reyes has left Atletico Madrid and returned to his roots at their Primera Liga rivals Sevilla. The 28-year-old began his career with Sevilla in 1999 and made close to 100 senior appearances for the club. He left for Arsenal in 2004 and has gone on to take in spells with Real Madrid, Benfica and Atletico. Reyes recently announced that he was keen to move back to Sevilla in order to be close to his ill father.

He has been granted his wish, with a three-and-a-half-year contract having been put in place. "Jose Antonio Reyes' transfer to FC Sevilla was sealed on Thursday morning," read a statement released on the club's official website. It is reported that Sevilla have paid €3.5million (£2.9m) for Reyes, with an additional million euros due depending on the club's results. Sevilla are expected to officially unveil their new signing on Friday, meaning he could come into contention for a trip to Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
