Eredivisie round-up: Ajax extend lead

​Ajax extended their gap at the top of the Eredivisie with a narrow 1-0 victory at home to Vitesse on Saturday.

Riechedly Bazoer netted the only goal of the game in the first minute as Frank de Boer's side moved six points clear of PSV Eindhoven - who host FC Twente on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Heracles moved up to fourth with a 2-1 win over De Graafschap. Brahim Darri and Thomas Bruns scored either side of half-time for the home side, before English midfielder Andrew Driver's late consolation strike.

Roda JC Kerkrade ran out 1-0 victors at Excelsior to climb away from the relegation zone thanks to Hicham Faik's 83rd-minute winner. 

SC Heerenveen ran out 3-1 winners against Willem despite going behind to a 20th minute Nick van der Velden strike.

The home side hit back with three goals in the last 20 minutes through Arber Zeneli, Kenneth Otigba and Sam Larsson to move up to 10th in the table.

FC Groningen played out a goalless draw at home to NEC Nijmegen on Friday night.
