The Bayern Munich juggernaut was slowed by stubborn Hertha Berlin on Saturday as the Bundesliga leaders' 15-match winning run came to an end with a goalless draw.

The dominant hosts failed to find a way past a resolute Hertha rearguard as Bayern failed to win for the first time in any competition since late November.

Jupp Heynckes' men had won 11 league games in a row and scored at least two goals in every match they have played since Christmas, including five against Besiktas in the Champions League in midweek, but found Hertha's Norwegian goalkeeper Rune Jarstein in impressive form.

The point extended Bayern's lead at the top of the table to 20 points, although Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund can cut that lead later this weekend.

Third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt were unable to make any inroads into Bayern's advantage as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Stuttgart.

Erik Thommy scored the only goal of the game after 13 minutes as in-form Eintracht suffered only their second defeat of the year.

Borussia Monchengladbach got their bid for Europe back on track as a 1-0 win at Hannover ended a run four straight defeats without scoring a goal.

Hoffenheim's match at home to Freiburg finished 1-1, Andrej Kramaric putting the hosts ahead in the 57th minute and Nils Petersen levelling from the penalty spot nine minutes later.

Werder Bremen boosted their survival hopes and edged Hamburg closer to the drop thanks to a late 1-0 win at the Weser-Stadion.

Rick van Drongelen's 86th-minute own goal left the second-bottom visitors seven points from safety and moved Bremen up to 14th.
