WALLACE SIGNS FOR BOLTON

ROD WALLACE has completed a surprise move to Bolton Wanderers, after spending the first part of the season in footballing limbo.

Wallace found himself without a contract at Rangers, after being released during the summer, and the experienced striker has been snapped up by Premiership leaders Bolton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old did spend time at Bolton training in the close season, but manager Sam Allardyce chose not to follow up on his intial interest.

However, after missing out on Atletico Madrid international striker Kiko, Wallace has been taken on by Wanderers, although his late signing means that he will not be available for the game against former club Southampton.

Wallace signed for Rangers from Leeds United in 1998, and has scored 56 goals in 121 appearances for the Scottish giants.

The diminutive striker won a championship medal with Leeds, after moving to the West Yorkshire club from Southampton, and the speedy marksman will provide vital cover to current starting partnership Dean Holdsworth and Michael Ricketts.
