PARS SIGN BORO YOUNGSTER

DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC have secured the services of Middlesbrough midfielder Sean Kilgannon on a three-month loan deal.

Kilgannon's arrival at East End Park could be the first of four new faces manager Jimmy Calderwood is aiming to attract to the club.

The 20-year-old Scottish youth international will be thrust straight into the squad for this weekend's SPL clash with Livingston.

He has failed to make the breakthrough at The Riverside Stadium with only a three-minute substitute appearance two seasons ago to his credit in the first team.

Calderwood, though, is confident that his temporary capture will prove a worthwhile addition to his squad.

"Sean is left-sided and, as he will be counted as an Under-21 player for SPL purposes, he meets quite a few of our requirements," he said.

"Hopefully, the loan will be beneficial for the club and the player. We're looking forward to seeing him in action."

The Pars boss is also still aiming to lure striker Lee McCulloch to East End Park, but admits he is getting frustrated by the lack of a decision from Wigan.

"It's been going on for five or six weeks now and Wigan still don't know what they want to do. I honestly thought something would be done by now."

While he awaits an outcome to the McCulloch saga, Calderwood is assessing an unnamed French striker on trial
