Rangers climb to fourth

QUEENS PARK RANGERS moved up to fourth in Division Two on Monday evening after a 2-1 success over Blackpool at Loftus Road.

The sides started the game with just two points separating them, but it was QPR who managed to come out on top to bolster their early season promotion push.

The R's broke the deadlock after 17 minutes through impressive midfielder Richard Langley (pictured)

Terrell Forbes created the chance and Langley brought the ball under control before cutting into the area and firing past Phil Barnes.

Steve McMahon's Blackpool, though, showed some fighting spirit and managed to level matters just after the hour mark.

The lively Scott Taylor capitalised on a poor back pass, as he raced through and flicked the ball over the advancing Simon Royce.

However, The Tangerines were then guilty of their own defence howler which gifted QPR all three points.

Just two minutes after Taylor had scored, Chris Clarke attempted a pass back to Barnes, and although firm, the keeper got himself into a tangle and allowed the ball past him and into the bottom corner to give QPR the victory.
