Mourinho rules out Becks raid

Jose Mourinho insists he will not be bringing David Beckham to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho insists he will not be bringing David Beckham to Chelsea in the summer.

The Portuguese coach has also revealed his great admiration for Fulham manager Chris Coleman and stressed he is willing to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Although Mourinho is chasing a 'great player', he told A Bola that Real Madrid midfielder Beckham will not be coming to West London.

"No, it isn't Beckham," Mourinho stressed. "Not that I don't like him as a player or a person.

"It's simply because in the position he plays, and the way our team play, he doesn't seem ideal to us."

Mourinho admires Coleman, who manages neighbours Fulham, and is willing to prolong his own stay in The Premiership.

"I like Middlesbrough," he stated. "I like Steve McClaren.

"However, the coach that I like best in English football is Chris Coleman.

"He is a great leader. The messages he sends to his team in the good and bad moments mean he can coach a great team.

"He has presence. He's able to change his team in a game.

"I have a great four-year contract that I never thought I'd ever have and I'd never do a thing for this contract to be changed.

"The intention is there [to extend the deal].

"I'm 42 and, if I could earn another contract, I would.

"In my mind, I have 13-15 years more as a coach.

"I won't go on like Sir Bobby Robson or Sir Alex Ferguson, who is 62."
