Groningen grab Yuri

Groningen have stepped in to sign Yuri Cornelisse from NAC Breda.

The 30-year-old arrived at NAC last summer from RKC and had a consistent campaign for the Breda club.

Cornelisse had a further three years to run on his contract at NAC, but Groningen have stepped in to bring him to the Oosterpark and he will move when the transfer window opens in the summer.

The capture of Cornelisse will come as a boost to Groningen coach Ron Jans who had earlier seen a move for Robin Nelisse flounder when the AZ Alkmaar man opted to head to Utrecht.

Cornelisse signed off from NAC in style, as he netted a last-minute leveller against Twente.
