Former Arsenal trainee Eric Obinna Chukwunyelu is training with Reading. The Nigerian striker was on the books at Highbury in the late 1990s but failed to make the grade under Arsene Wenger.
He has since been playing across the continent and has most recently been in Germany with Kaiserslautern.
Chukwunyelu is a friend of Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko and he is looking to impress Royals manager Steve Coppell.
The 24-year-old will feature for the club in a friendly against Dorchester Town on Tuesday with reserve team boss Brian McDermott feeling Chukwunyelu merits the chance to showcase his talents.
McDermott told the club's official website: "The feedback has been good, he's done well in training and we wanted to see how he comes up in a match."
Joining Chukwunyelu in the team to face Dorchester are former France Under-20 international Rodrigue Boisfer, AFC Wimbledon's Bradley Drake and Brentford's Luke Muldowney, who have been training at The Madejski Stadium in pre-season.
