Henry: Chelsea can't buy title

Arsenal's Thierry Henry insists that big names cannot guarantee success.

Arsenal star Thierry Henry believes that Michael Essien is a great signing for Chelsea, but insists that no amount of money and star players can guarantee success in football.

Henry believes the midfielder will be a huge star in English football following his big-money move from Lyon to Chelsea.

However, the new Arsenal captain insists that buying the world's biggest names and best players is no guarantee of success.

"Essien will prove to be an amazing signing for Chelsea - trust me," Henry told The Sun.

"He has a fantastic game and everyone wanted to sign him, but only Chelsea could.

"It is not all about Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United - anyone is good enough to beat anyone on their day.

"It's a fact that Chelsea have the possibility to buy many good players and, if I was a Chelsea fan, I would be happy with that.

"They are doing something great for the club but it's 11 versus 11.

"Who would have thought that with all the great names at Milan they would lose the Champions League to Liverpool?

"Things happen in football which you do not expect - it's why the game is great."
