Blues confirm Del Horno exit
Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Asier Del Horno to Valencia.
Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Asier Del Horno to Valencia. The full back has moved to La Mestalla after just one year at Stamford Bridge.
Del Horno has agreed a six-year deal at Valencia and he was paraded before the media on Monday afternoon.
The 25-year-old failed to hold down a regular place in Jose Mourinho's star-studded first team and Chelsea have allowed him to leave.
Del Horno follows Damien Duff out of the exit door at Chelsea in the last few days.
The departure of Del Horno is likely to fuel speculation that Chelsea are lining up a move for either Ashley Cole or Roberto Carlos to replace the Spaniard.
Del Horno insists he has no regrets about making the move to Chelsea despite spending only 12 months in West London.
"It was a good experience in London. I developed a lot as a player and a person," said Del Horno.
"Looking back I view it positively and for me it was important to have won a league title in my first season in England."
