Iaquinta blow for Azzurri
Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has pulled out of Italy's squad for Wednesday.
Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has pulled out of Italy's squad for their friendly against Turkey on Wednesday. An ankle injury suffered at the weekend against Lazio has reduced him to the sidelines and after a consultation with the national team's doctor Andrea Ferretti, he was sent back to his club.
Iaquinta's misfortune has opened up a window of opportunity for Sampdoria's Emiliano Bonazzoli, who as a result has earned his first international call-up from Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni.
Meanwhile, Udinese have offered a trial to FC Honka forward Roni Porokara as they continue to scour their net across Europe ahead of the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old can operate both wide and as a central striker and after a fine campaign in the Finnish top flight, he will now try and earn a lucrative move to Serie A.
It is expected that Porokara will move to Italy in the middle of November but as yet Udinese have not confirmed the length of his trial.
