Sky Sports understands up to 10 Premier League clubs want to sign Jermain Defoe - but Tottenham are not one of them.

QPR - managed by Harry Redknapp, who coached Defoe at Spurs and Portsmouth – Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Hull and Leicester are among the clubs believed to be keen on a move for a player who has scored 124 Premier League goals.

The 32-year-old is currently training with Spurs to maintain his fitness – FC Toronto are believed to want around £3m for the striker.

He is thought to be keen to rejoin his former club – Defoe left Spurs in January 2014 after scoring 143 goals in all competitions during two spells at White Hart Lane.

Defoe, who is training with Tottenham's development squad, has scored 11 goals in 19 games for Toronto, but his relationship with the club has deteriorated with injuries restricting his effectiveness.
