David Prutton's EFL predictions

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his predictions ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet EFL matches.

But who is he tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Blackburn v Wigan, Sunday 12pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

Blackburn have a little bit of breathing space over Wigan in the promotion battle in League Two, but have played four games more than the Latics.

Victory here, however, would extend their gap to nine points over Wigan, and you would probably rather have the points in the bag than the games to play. This could be a defining game in the battle at the top of League One and I think there will be plenty of goals and a narrow home win.

Prutton predicts: 3-2 with Bradley Dack to score first (110/1 with Sky Bet)

Bristol City v Sheffield Wednesday, Saturday 3pm

Bristol City's poor run has finally caught up with them and they're now on the outside looking into the play-offs. They have simply dropped too many points lately and need to get going again.

A home game against an out-of-form Sheffield Wednesday represents another great chance to get back to winning ways. The Owls are sleepwalking down the table at the moment. It's a tough one to call, though, so I'm going to go for a draw.

Derby v Fulham, Saturday 3pm

Derby will be starting to get a little bit nervous that it's all happening again. They looked so assured a few weeks ago but now have just one win in their last seven and they are drifting back down the table.

Fulham, meanwhile, are absolutely flying and will be full of confidence heading to Pride Park, especially after that victory over Wolves last week. I think Slavisa Jokanovic's side will claim all three points.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (9/1 with Sky Bet)

Millwall v Sunderland, Saturday 3pm

It's crazy to think that this time last year these two teams were two leagues and, in many ways, two worlds apart. Now Millwall are in fantastic form and heading in an upwards trajectory, while Sunderland are going the other way.

It was a fantastic comeback from the Black Cats against Middlesbrough last week, but they are still well adrift of safety and need to start winning games fast. I can't see them getting anything from The Den though.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (11/2 with Sky Bet)

Nottingham Forest v Birmingham, Saturday 3pm

It was a massive win for Nottingham Forest at QPR last week, and to score five goals would have been a huge morale boost for Aitor Karanka and Co. You feel like one more win will be enough now to allay any concerns of slipping towards the bottom three.

Birmingham are great opposition for Forest right now. They are in dreadful form having lost their last four and are right back in the relegation zone. After Saturday I think it will be five.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (9/2 with Sky Bet)
