Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has signed a new three-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club.
Ivory Coast international Kalou, who will now stay with the Blues until 2012, becomes the latest member of the first-team squad to commit his future to the West London outfit.
Compatriot Didier Drogba, captain John Terry, Ashley Cole, John Obi Mikel, Florent Malouda, Hilario and Michael Mancienne have all put pen to paper on fresh terms since the end of last season.
With Chelsea currently banned from signing any new players in the next two transfer windows in the wake of the Gael Kakuta affair, it has become imperative to secure the services of their existing squad on extended deals.
And while the Blues are to appeal over Fifa's punishment, the news that the 24-year-old has extended his stay at Stamford Bridge will come as a major boost.

Kalou joined the Blues from Feyenoord in an £8million deal in May 2006 and has racked up more than 150 first-team appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals in all competitions.
